Top Ten Things I Learned in Louisiana

10. Don't go to Bourbon Street, especially with your youth group

9. Sledgehammers are fun...dust and black mold are not.

8. Don't give beans to Faith

7. Don't go to the Taco Bell Drive through with a full 15 pasenger van

6. Don't draw a smiley face on Gary's back

5. If you were in the desert and had nothing to drink...

4. People there REALLY don't like FEMA

3. In my youth group, it is an insult to call someone "beautiful on the inside"
2. Nebraska people think we all have crazy accents

1. We all take everything for granted...it could all be taken away in the blink of an eye.

Now is where I explain them

About number 10...our youth minister Gary took us down Bourbon Street for like 7 seconds and we saw some nasty porn and strip club signs so we left. It was pretty gross.

About number 9...I knocked down a bathroom wall with a sledgehammer. There was dust and black mold everywhere.

Number 8...I think you know...haha

Number 7...It was the only thing open. Everybody was hungry because we hadn't eaten yet. Everyone was tired and cranky...oh goodness.

Number 6...Jeremy drew a smiley face with a sharpie on Gary's back while he was taking a nap...it was pretty funny. Gare Bear got him back though. He cracked an egg on Jeremy's head right before he went to bed. Then Jeremy rubbed on Gary's pillow. hmmm...

Number 5...you don't want to know

Number 4...There were shirts with acronyms for FEMA. I'll let your imagination run wild.

Number 3...On the van ride up there, we established the fact that when you aske if someone was cute and the answer is "He's a really nice guy" it basically means he's not really attractive. haha. Not always though...hmm...

Number 2....There were some people from Nebraska at this thing and they thought we had crazy accents. ha.

Number 1....Almost every thing these people had was taken away from them in the blink of an eye. So often we get wrapped up in wanting things. This trip made me realize not to complain because we have been blessed so much. I have been a big brat before. It really made me sad to see all of these houses completely washed out.

P.S. Something else to add to my list. Don't read the t-shirts
